NUTLEY, NJ - Special Young Adults Director Anne Rotonda will be awarded the 2017 Department of Public Affairs Women’s Advocacy Award for her work with SYA in a special ceremony on June 30. The award is given by Commissioner Steven Rogers and the Department of Public Affairs.

Rotonda was named the recipient of award in early 2017, but due to serious health issues, she was unable to personally accept the award. Rotonda is on the path to recovery following a bone marrow transplant last fall.

Rotonda has been the Director of The Special Young Adults Organization for over 37 years, dedicating her entire life to the well-being of countless special young adults who would otherwise have nowhere to turn. Community members say that she showers them in the love and support they deserve. She is completely and unconditionally loved by every young adult that comes though her doors, as well as by everyone that has had the undeniable privilege of meeting or working with her.
