NUTLEY, NJ - Residents are invited to attend a parade honoring the township's first responders on Saturday Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. The parade, starting at the intersection of Centre St. and Franklin Ave., will march through Nutley Center and end at the Public Safety Headquarters.

Called a 'celebration of our police officers, firefighters, healthcare workers, EMS and EMTs,' this event affords the community to honor the men and women who served the community throughout the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.

Organizers encourage everyone to bring signs that send a positive message to the first responders.

Pags restaurant, a business that opened in the midst of the COVID-19 closure, will be providing refreshments.

Organizers encourage everyone to wear face coverings. Emphasis was made to 'Keep Politics Out,' because this, according to organizers, is a parade, not a protest.

Parade goers may want to purchase a "We Support Our Front Line Heroes" lawn sign to display before and after the parade - bring it to the parade to show your support for Nutley Police, Fire, EMTs, and Medical workers. Funds from that lawn sign directly support the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad.
