Get ready for adrenaline-charged excitement as Independent Wrestling Federation presents a family-friendly Live Event on Saturday, April 14, 7:30 pm to benefit American Cancer Society's Relay For Life at Rec Center, 44 Park Avenue, Nutley.

Headlining IWF’s action-packed 21st Annual LOUD & PROUD extravaganza are Nutley's own Master of Chaos Kevin Knight, plus IWF Hall of Famer's Fifth Element Roman Zachary, Phat Daddy Biggie Biggs, Outlaw Shane O'Brien and Shawn Donavan.

Also set to appear are First-Class Justin Adams, Southside Slugger Tony Graves, The Atkins Brothers, Dark Oracle Sage, Soul Train Nick Shin and Referee Barry Delaney.  Making his wrestling debut is Nutley's Frank Pignataro, a champion bodybuilder and former amateur boxer and MMA competitor.

“Relay For Life is a spectacular display of how our community continuously comes together to fight for a cause we truly believe in, and this promises to be our biggest year yet with your help,” said Mauro G. Tucci, Commissioner of Nutley Parks & Recreation.

Special guests include Legendary WWE and WCW Ring Announcer Gary Michael Cappetta, New Jersey Hall of Fame Broadcaster Bert Baron from "Jersey Central" on 1450 WCTC-AM Radio, David LaGreca from "Busted Open" on Sirius XM Radio, and East Side Dave McDonald from Compound Media and 95.9 WRAT-FM Radio.

“I can't wait to return to the area to support the IWF Fundraiser to benefit Relay For Life,” said Gary Cappetta, a graduate of Kearny High School who traveled worldwide providing introductions for stars like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.  "I'm looking forward to teaming up with the IWF crew for a fun night to support a great cause."

Event hosts include IWF Hall of Famers Mad Dawg Jenkins and The Commish AJ Sparxx.  This will be a sports experience that delivers edge-of-your-seat thrills and is affordable for the entire family.

"The IWF superstars continue to donate their time and amazing talent for this extraordinary event," said Bert Baron.  "WCTC is more than honored to support this tremendous cause."

More stars will be announced in the coming weeks for this one-night-only reunion event on April 14.  Doors open 6:30 pm for All Access FanFest with Wrestler Meet & Greet.  

“You will witness the unexpected and unforgettable as the best of sports and entertainment collide to create a memorable event,” said Kevin Knight, a NHS Graduate who serves on Relay Leadership Committee.  “Fans of all ages will enjoy our hard-hitting, high-flying energy!”

Supporting the event are Nutley Parks & Recreation Department, 1450 WCTC-AM Radio, Ocean Beach Sales and Rentals of Lavallette, Clinical Sports Labs and TAPinto Nutley.

“Pro wrestling organizations like IWF have always given back to the community,” added Cappetta.  “I was honored when they asked me to participate in this special event."

Established in 1998, the award-winning Independent Wrestling Federation produced more than 700 Live Events throughout New Jersey.  The nationally-accredited IWF Wrestling School, based in Woodland Park and Nutley, saw 44 graduates receive WWE and NXT tryouts with 11 gaining full-time employment in the ring and behind the scenes.

Nutley Elks Announce 8th Annual Wild Game Charity Dinner March 24

NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley Elks Lodge No. 1299 will host the 8th annual 'Wild Game Charity Dinner' March 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the lodge on Chestnut St. Proceeds from the event will support the Nutley Elks Special Children and Veterans Committees. 

The evening will include more than twenty hand served and buffee dishes including exotic meats, soups, and lobster.

Bed Bugs Suspected at Verona High School

VERONA, NJ - Verona High School sent an email to parents Wednesday about a suspected case of bed bugs in the school.
