NUTLEY, NJ - Sure Chevy, and Ford, and Chrysler will be represented at the Second Annual Rotary Car Show, but hard core enthusiasts know to come early, walk the show slowly, and "eat the avenue" all evening as a vast array of food crafters will be selling their sweet and savory creations.
The annual event will take over Franklin Ave. from Centre St. to Chestnut St this Wednesday. Officers from the Nutley Police Department Traffic Division are expected to close the street to traffic in the 3 o'clock hour. The road will remain closed until after cleanup. The show itself runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Expect Franklin Ave. to be reopened by 9 p.m.
The show itself is free, but bring cash as there will be a large number of food crafters lining the streets including Spanky's Gourmet Grub, zeppoles made right before your eyes, frozen treats, hot dogs, and empanadas. Cash also will come in handy as members of the Rotary club will be selling raffle tickets up and down the avenue.
The show will also feature live music and a DJ.
Proceeds from the 2019 Rotary Car Show will benefit the Nutley Rotary Scholarship Fund and the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad.
