NUTLEY, NJ - With less than a week to go before the biggest event in shopping small, Nutley's second annual 'Small Business Saturday' event is about 50% bigger than the 2019 event. Sponsored by the Nutley Chamber of Commerce, local business owners are lookng forward to meeting new friends, and customers.
In the time of Corona, people have dramatically shifted the way they shop. According to Rob None of Pretty Handy on Franklin Ave, "People WANT to support local business." One of the upsides of the pandemic, if you can call it that, is many people are rediscovering small business, not just here, but everywhere. Small businesses also don't have the same crowds, making it easier to social distance and stay safe.
Pretty Handy's Joyce Lin once again created the Nutley Small Business Saturday flyer. Available in print in many retail locations, as well as digitally, the flyer shows the range of small businesses participating this year. Lin is encouraging local businesses to support each other by sharing the flyer. Since there is no Santa’s Arrival this year, working together to distribute flyers this year is especially important.
