NUTLEY, NJ - Trustees on the Nutley Board of Education will select a president and vice president at the Tuesday Jan 7 meeting. This meeting, the first of the year, is traditionally called the "reorganization meeting" as it is when newly elected members are seated and the leadership is determined.
On Nov. 5, 2019 the Annual School Board Election for the Nutley School District was held. Voting was conducted for the election of three members to the Board of Education each for a three-year term. The results of the election were as follows:
Frank DeMaio 3,023
Charles W. Kucinski 2,664
Daniel A. Carnicella 2,397
Dominick Ritacco 1,537
Ralph Chimento 1,474
Vito D’Alessio 1,385
The candidates elected were: Frank DeMaio, Charles W. Kucinski and Daniel A. Carnicella for three-year terms. All served on the board in the previous term.
Each of the nine members of the board can nominate a trustee for the roles of president and vice president. The nomination must be seconded and then the entire board votes. At present, Daniel Carnicella serves as president and Charles Kucinski serves in the vice president role.
The Reorganization Meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the John H. Walker Middle School.
