NUTLEY, NJ - With 10,903 ballots cast at polling locations across the township, Nutley voters made their choices known in Congressional, Senatorial, County, and Public School District elections. Members of the Township Clerk's Office worked late into the night tabulating the results. 

In the NJ-11 Congressional District, Nutley residents cast 5,879 votes for Mikie Sherrill vs. 3,988 votes for Republican Jay Webber. The 11th Congressional district runs from Nutley westward through Montclair and Fairfield, into Morris County, to Sparta in Sussex County. 

In the Senate race, Nutley voters cast 5,036 for Republican Bob Hugin. 5,025 votes were cast for New Jersey's senior senator Robert Menendez.

Both Sherrill and Hugin advertised in TAPinto Nutley during this election cycle. 

Mikie Sherrill was declared the anticipated winner of the 11th Congressional District by the major news outlets. 

Former Nutley resident, incumbent Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. received 5,725 votes for Essex County Executive. Republican challenger John Chaia received 3,369 votes.

For County Sheriff, 5,344 votes were cast for incumbent Aramando Fontoura. 3,724 were cast for challenger Pasquale Cappozoli.   

In the local Board of Election race, Nutley voters continued the tradition of casting the most votes for the first three ballot positions. Nutley residents cast 4,050 for Kenneth Reilly who was in the first ballot position, 3,334 votes for Teri Quirk who was in the second postion, and 3,538 for Erica Zarro. Reilly served on the BOE in the past, Quirk and Zarro ran for the first time in this cycle. The three incumbents were not re-elected. 

The Nutley Public School Construction Referendum was defeated. 4,121 people voted "No" to the first referendum question compared to 3,779 "yes" votes. The second referendum question received 4,200 "No" votes and 3,587 "Yes" votes. 

All results tonight are for ballots cast in person at polling locations today. These results still must be certified by the county clerk.

Vote by Mail ballots are not counted in these figures.
