NUTLEY, NJ - In a matchup unlike any other in community, parents from the five Nutley elementary schools will go head to head, or rather fork to mouth, in the first ever PTO Showdown at the Oakley Kitchen and Cocktails.

Wednesday September 18 is Open House Night at the five elementary schools in the Nutley Public Schools district. After meeting the teachers, and cramming themselves into those tiny desks, parents are invited to get together at the Oakley for cocktails and conversation with their new parent friends.

Starting at 8 p.m., show the "flyer" on your phone for 10% off your bill. The image of the flyer from this news article will work for the discount.

Then the competition begins. Guests of the Oakley will have the chance to donate their savings to the PTOs serving their elementary school in specially crafted Mason Jars created for the competition by Rob and Joyce of Pretty Handy on Franklin Ave.

Each PTO will receive all of the proceeds in their respective jar. The school with the most contributions will win the competition. The Oakley will then match, up to $500, the amount raised in the winning jar and make a donation to that PTO.

Guests are encouraged to wear their school colors for the event.

Bonus: All wine at the Oakley is half price on Wednesday.
