NUTLEY, NJ - Santa, and his helicopter, may have left Nutley for the North Pole, but confidential sources told us that the big guy himself will be back in Nutley Sunday for the Nutley Fire Department 'Pancake Breakfast.'
Each year, Santa slips away from the North Pole to visit Nutley for this annual event. Santa will be available for photos, and to listen to children's wish lists, but what really gets him excited is the pancakes. "Oh, ho ho" he is reported to have told our source, "I eat so many cookies on the big night, so every year I look forward to pancakes in Nutley."
The pancake breakfast takes place Sunday Dec. 2 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus on Chestnut St. (for people without navigational reindeer, the address is 150 Chestnut St.)
The breakfast is $6 for adults, $4 for children under 12. There will be a raffle of door prizes with ticket at $2. Photo with Santa are $4.
Full disclosure: Our confidential source is one of Santa's elves. He also told us that Santa will return to Nutley in the coming weeks to visit the township on a firetruck. The elf didn't know the details, so we all have to really behave for the next few weeks.
