NUTLEY, NJ - The most striking news coming out of the 2019 Nutley Columbus Day Parade was the final ruling on the "Sauce vs. Gravy" debate. With the Nutley Irish American Association's 41st annual St. Patrick's Day Parade just hours away, we're curious to learn what knowledge will be dropped during the festivities.
Let's look back at our report from Oct. 2019:
It's settled. For once and for all. Finally, after years of arguing. And hours of discussion. And probably a lot more tears than any grandmother could imagine. The decades old "Gravy vs. Sauce" debate came to a fashionable end shortly following the Nutley-Belleville Italian Heritage Month parade.
Members of the Stabile and Caccavella families proudly declared that it is indeed "gravy" and not "sauce." Since no one sporting "it's sauce" was seen at the parade, its obvious that team sauce forfeited, leaving gravy as the winner.
Representing the families, after enjoying the parade, were Ava, Gia, Dominic, Nicolas, and Angelina.
If Nutley had a Thanksgiving parade, TAPinto Nutley would ask them to settle the other debate: is it stuffing or dressing?
A team of TAPinto Nutley reporters will be covering the parade. See you there!
