MONTCLAIR, NJ - Pre registration is open for the 9th Annual S.O.F.I.A. Walk Against Domestic Violence on Saturday, September 7 at Glenfield Park in Montclair.
The purpose of the walk s to raise funds to support victims, survivors and their families within our community and to help eradicate domestic violence. Donations will go to improve the lives of domestic violence victims and their families and contribute to the ongoing domestic violence education, awareness, prevention and healing programs, organizers announced.
The Grand Marshal is Selina D. Carter, Domestic Violence Activist, Speaker & Educator, Certified Critical Response Team (CRT) Member. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Spirit of Excellence-Leadership Guidance, Inc.
S.O.F.I.A. is a grass-roots organization serving clients in the Essex County and surrounding area since 2009. Since its inception, S.O.F.I.A.'s workshops and outreach events have been presented to more than 5,295 individuals.
