NUTLEY, NJ - Continuing a nearly 20 year tradition, the Chieffo family of Nutley has set the date for their annual Holiday Toy Drive for children battling cancer. The annual drive shuts down Gerard Rd. for one special night of music, cocoa, and a visit from Santa himself.
The premise is simple: bring new, unwrapped gifts for children, then enjoy the holiday block party.
The best way to make this annual event a success is to shop early. Grabbing a gift or two that are on sale well before the holiday rush is a great way to make this holiday season special for some really special kids.
Last year, the drive collected over 1500 toys. This being Nutley, you know someone is going to suggest besting that number.
The toys will find their ways into the hands of children at Clara Maas Hospital and the Cancer Center at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
The drive will be held on Gerard Rd. in Nutley NJ from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 14. 2019. In the event of inclement weather, the drive will move to Sunday Dec. 15. Should that happen, TAPinto Nutley will send out a breaking news e-news blast.
