NUTLEY, NJ -Thirteen residents have submitted their signed petition packets to the Township of Nutley Office of the Municipal Clerk, all with the goal of appearing on the ballot ahead of the Nutley Board of Commissioners election. The deadline to submit petitions was Mon. May 9.
Residents who submitted completed petitions are Lorenzo Marchese, Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli, Carmine Allessio, Alphonse Petracco, Ken Reilly, Frank Contella, Tom Evans, Chris Cullari, Sam Fleitell, John Kelly III, Mauro Tucci, Maria Hamlin and Danny Carnicella.
Pearl Wang handed in her packet a few weeks ago without signatures, and is reported to have stated she is no longer interested in running. Dave Wilson picked up a packet but did not return it.
The staff in the Office of the Municipal Clerk must verify the signatures before any of these individuals can officially be declared candidates.
The election will take place May 12.
