In order to make it on the ballot for the May 12 race, candidates must obtain a candidate packet from the Office of the Municipal Clerk in Nutley Town Hall during business hours. The first hurdle in the race is obtaining petition signatures. To even be considered, a candidate must have 225 registered voters sign their petition. Only one registered voter is allowed per page of the form. The form is more detailed than just signing one's name on a list. The deadline for submitting petitions is March 9, 2020.
