NUTLEY, NJ - A peaceful rally and protest in support of the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad (NVERS) Tues. Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. in front of town hall.
The Township of Nutley Board of Commissioners will be considering a resolution, introduced by Public Safety Commissioner Alphonse Petracco, to dissolve NVERS.
NVERS issued a public statement asking residents of the township to "Show the Nutley Commissioners that you support NVERS -- and to immediately stop any plans to dismantle our Squad." The statement added "This will be a peaceful protest. Let your voice be heard and help Rescue the Squad!"
TAPinto Nutley has been following this story for the past several weeks and will have reporters covering the protest and meeting.
Since 2016, TAPintoNutley.net has been the only locally owned news organization serving the Township of Nutley, and is a member of the New Jersey Press Association. The Nutley Board of Commissioners first named TAPintoNutley.net the township's 'Official Electronic News Source' in 2019.
