NUTLEY, NJ - A peaceful rally and protest in support of the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad (NVERS) Tues. Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. in front of town hall.

The Township of Nutley Board of Commissioners will be considering a resolution, introduced by Public Safety Commissioner Alphonse Petracco, to dissolve NVERS.

NVERS issued a public statement asking residents of the township to  "Show the Nutley Commissioners that you support NVERS -- and to immediately stop any plans to dismantle our Squad." The statement added "This will be a peaceful protest. Let your voice be heard and help Rescue the Squad!"
