NUTLEY, NJ - Hunger, and the need for supplemental nutrition assistance, never takes a holiday. This season, residents can help the Nutley Family Service Bureau food pantry operation by embracing "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle."
Nutley residents respond to the call for donations with a level of generosity that surpasses expectations every time the call is made., but that food has to get to the client's homes somehow. That's where 'reduce, reuse, recycle' comes in.
We all come home from the grocery with bags, and most of us wind up adding them to our curbside recycling after we get home. Stop doing that.
Save, and fold up your handled grocery bags neatly, organize them in another handled bag, and drop them off at the NFSB annex at 169 Chestnut St. It's that simple. The bags will be filled with food items for families in need.
At the present time, the NFSB food pantry operation supports close to 200 families in need of supplemental nutrition assistance. They include senior citizens, the homebound, disabled residents, and veterans.
