NUTLEY, NJ - The County of Essex reported the 34th COVID-19 death in the township of Nutley. The most recent report was published Monday, May 18, 2020. The report also show the number of deaths in the county as 1550, statewide the count is 10,356.

The county report does not indicate the number of recovered patients, nor does the Township of Nutley Office of Emergency Management (OEM) update. The OEM report is generated by data from the Health Department, a part of the Department of Public Affairs.

The county report stresses that social distancing, hand hygiene, and other steps to prevent infection must be followed at all times in all municipalities regardless of the number of cases.

The report also states that the number of infected individuals in any municipality is likely to be much greater than indicated as the report only includes individuals who have been tested and whose lab results have been reported in the State’s data system.
