NUTLEY, NJ - The County of Essex reported the 27th COVID-19 Coronavirus death in the Township of Nutley Tuesday morning. The report also shows 339 confirmed cases of the virus in the community.

With today's report, the county included age distribution information about the confirmed cases and those who have succumbed. Those 80 years of age and older make up 8% of cases, but 33.4% of deaths. 

33.8% of confirmed cases are 30 to 49 years old. This group makes up 5.6% of deaths.

31.1% of cases are in those aged 50 to 64 years old, this group makes up 22.8% of deaths.

The 65 to 79 group are 16.1% of cases, and 37.1% of deaths. 

While data and "chatter" focus on the dangers to older populations, in Essex County 136 residents under the age of 18 have died from COVID-19 coronavirus
