NUTLEY, NJ - The County of Essex reported the 28th death in the township this morning due to COVID-19 coronavirus. The Thursday morning report from the county also shows an increase in confirmed cases bringing the total to 360. 

In Essex County, the number of confirmed cases has risen to 11,787. The number of residents lost is 928 as of this morning. Across the state, there are 95,865 cases with 5,063 residents lost. 

The county report stresses that social distancing, hand hygiene, and other steps to prevent infection must be followed at all times in all municipalities regardless of the
number of cases.

The county report notes that the number of infected individuals in any municipality is likely to be much greater than indicated as this data ONLY includes persons who have been tested and whose lab results have been reported in the State of New Jersey's data system.
