NUTLEY, NJ - The Township of Nutley suffered its 30th COVID-19 death. The latest death was reported by the County of Essex in their Friday morning report. The number of coronavirus cases in the township rose to 428.

Thursday, the state acknowledged 460 COVID-19 related deaths, which is the most reported in one day. This brings the statewide death toll to 7,228. 

Governor Phil Murphy began Thursday's daily press conference with a report of his earlier meeting with President Donald Trump and other officials with ties to the Garden State. Murphy was at the White House to discuss the state's COViD-19 mitigation strategies and the restart of its economy. The governor walked away pleased with what he called a "good and productive conversation" with result that will help the state.
