Over the past several weeks, I have witnessed the outpouring of your support to the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad in many ways.

You have provided hundreds of much-needed personal protective equipment supplies, supplied us with lunch and dinners for months, written wonderful notes of thanks and appreciation to both our career and volunteer first responders, placed Nutley Heroes signs on your lawns, and clapped and banged pots and pans in our neighborhood and beyond.

In addition, hundreds of you have made generous donations to your volunteer organization that has served the Nutley community for over 65 years, enabling us to continue to purchase what we need to continue the fight. This has been done either through our local businesses, some who are working around the clock supplying our community with face masks, or directly to us.

Heroes work here, and in many towns across America.

Our heroic staff knows you are behind them, and they, in turn, are here for you and all members of our community. Bravery doesn't begin to describe it, and neither does gratitude. I want you all to know that we see and hear every gesture, and we all are appreciative and inspired.

We are and will remain #NutleyStrong, and together we will come through this unprecedented time.
