ESSEX COUNTY, NJ - Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr issued a statement Wednesday, June 3 in response to the demonstrations being held across Essex County.

“The peaceful demonstrations held throughout Essex County during the last several days to protest the death of George Floyd is indicative of the respect that the public and our Essex County law enforcement community has for one another. I have always said that our strength in Essex County is our diversity, and with that diversity comes an understanding and appreciation for our differences. Instead of allowing this horrific, racist act divide us, we stand together as a united community. Instead of turning to violence, we are calling for change through peace.”

TAPinto Nutley will continue to share reports of demonstrations from across the state in our Law & Justice section.
