GLEN ROCK, NJ - Following an investigation by the officers of the Glen Rock Police Department, a Nutley man will have to answer to formal charges of shoplifting.

According to police, $54.99 worth of alcohol was taken from the Bottle King on Prospect St. in Glen Rock.  After an investigation, Detective Sgt. James Calaski of the Glen Rock police arrested William G. Scher, 60, of Nutley in connection with the case. The actor surrendered at police headquarters Nov. 5 and was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court.

The court date is set for Nov. 19.
