NUTLEY, NJ - Officers from the Nutley Police Department are investigating the disappearance of a small white Maltese Poodle mix named Biscuit.

Police responded to an Essex St.home in the township after the owner reported their eight year old dog missing. The woman said that the dog inadvertently gotten out of the house and was believed to have been taken Monday evening approx. 8:00 PM.

Police are investigating the incident and reported that a man wearing a red hat, had the dog in his arms before entering a beige older model Honda. The victim told police the vehicle was observed immediately after the dog's disappearance, near Essex and Franklin Ave. At the time of this report police were actively investigating and request the public’s assistance with reuniting Biscuit with his owner.

Chief Thomas Strumolo said that this could be a misunderstanding and knows that the owner must be devastated at this time, he assured her  that police are doing whatever we can to help reunite the two.

Director Alphonse Petracco, said give it some time, I am sure our police and our neighboring community will locate Biscuit, It may just be a matter of letting whoever is safeguarding him know where he escaped from.
