NUTLEY, NJ - Members of the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad welcomed a new arrival just before the New Year: a new ambulance that is expected to enter service this Spring.

The ambulance was manufactured by PL Custom in Manasquan NJ. The unit cost $227,000. As NVERS is not supported with tax dollars, 100% of the funds to purchase the vehicle came from the donations made by local residents.

NVERS president Jonathan Arredondo explained that there is still some outfitting that needs to be done to the vehicle, including all the "Nutley" lettering and markings. There is also some outfitting of supplies that needs to be completed. Once finished, it will be called "Nutley EMS #48."

Like all NVERS vehicles and boats, the squad's chaplain will bless "Nutley EMS #48" before entering service.

"Our residents deserve the best in care especially with the advancements in technology and medicine." said Arredondo.
