NUTLEY, NJ - As the aroma of pancakes and sausage filled the kitchen, hundreds of guest filled the event hall at the Knights of Columbus for the annual 'Pancake Breakfast with Santa' hosted by the volunteer fire fighters in Nutley.

The event, that, according to Henry Meola has been going on for as long as anyone can remember is one of the many events that everyone connected to the fire houses on Park Ave. and High St. look forward to every year. Meola served as the official photographer for the event.

"Team Pancake," a crew of volunteer fire fighters spent the morning in the kitchen slipping pancakes and grilling sausage for hundreds of children and parents. Volunteer fire fighters, and their significant others, provided table service for the guests bringing plates directly to their tables.

Santa, who is rumored to have parked his helicopter on the roof of the Knights of Columbus building, arrived before the 8 a.m. start time of the event and stayed until nearly 1 p.m. The reindeer are back at the North Pole doing crossfit and yoga in preparation of the big night. 

Gemma Kistner, 4, loves to sing dance and paint. For Christmas, she wants a phone. There may very well have been a future instagram star in our midst this morning. She also wants a baby sibling. 

Anthony visited Santa with his sister Daniella. Anthony is 2 1/2 and loves Cars and would like more. In addition to having a Disney side, he also likes Elmo and wore the niftiest Elmo slippers while speaking to Santa. 

Cameron, 2, joined his 5 month old sister Jayde on her first visit to meet Santa. Cameron loves trucks and dinosaurs. It was evident that he also loves his sister very much.

Santa returned to the North Pole after the last table was cleared, but a confidential informant told us that he plans to return to Nutley next week hop a ride with volunteer fire fighters through the township. 

Our source, one of Santa's elf, told us that Santa's route will be shared this week.
