NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley resident Joe Curcio got together with a few friends and decided now is the time to "show our appreciation to all first responders during some of the most trying times many of us have experienced." To that end, he's organized a rally in support of all first responders in Nutley and Belleville.

The rally, described as "a family friendly, peaceful and politically neutral event," will begin at the intersection of Centre St. and Franklin Ave. at 1 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 1. From there the group will march to the Public Safety headquarters on Chestnut St.

In a statement, Curcio said "It is going to be quick due to covid concerns, but next year we are planning on a bigger event."

Everyone is encouraged to please wear masks, and bring signs that show support to our first responders.
