NUTLEY, NJ - Documents obtained by TAPinto Nutley regarding the Nov. 5 victory party bar fight indicate that officers from the Nutley Police Department were on the scene two minutes after the call came into Nutley Public Safety Department headquarters.
A Nutley resident was charged with aggravated assault (2C:12-1b) after the dispute in the area of High St. and Franklin Ave. at a Board of Education election victory party.
TAPinto Nutley filed an OPRA (Open Public Records Act) request for information regarding the incident. Today, Nov 18, a call report for that incident was received. The report, received digitally, included the comment "Please note that personal identifying information has been redacted pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1." The document is attached in the "photo" area of this news story.
The document indicates that there was a report of a fight outside the bar, with one female striking another with a chair. The incident was reported in the Nutley Police Department Blotter and was reported independently by TAPinto Nutley.
The records indicate that a call regarding the incident was received at 11:21 p.m. on Nov. 5. According to the report six police vehicles were dispatched to the area of Franklin Ave and High St., arriving between 11:23 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. TAPinto Nutley also confirmed that a unit from the Nutley Volunteer and Emergency Rescue Squad was dispatched to the scene.
