NUTLEY, NJ - A residential fire at 49 Passaic Ave was reported at about 3:50 p.m. today. The Nutley Fire Department responded and was joined by members of the Belleville Fire Department to fight the fire. The fire was knocked down by about 4:15 p.m.

Units remained on the scene to investigate the scene and to make sure the fire did not spread to other areas of the structure. 

According to Nutley Commissioner Alphonse Petracco, the fire is currently under investigation. Petracco was happy to report that there were not injuries to either the residents of the building or to the fire fighters who responded at this time.

The home is near the intersection of Passaic and Hancox, near the 7-Eleven on Passaic Ave.
