NUTLEY, NJ - Officers of the Nutley Police Department executed a search warrant for a township home located on Valley Rd in the Radcliffe area of town.
The search resulted in the police discovering nearly a dozen marijuana plants. They also found CDS (controlled dangerous substance) and paraphernalia related to drug use use.
Nutley residents, Bryan Kainey, 32, and Mallory Kainey, 34, were placed under arrest and transported to Nutley police headquaters on Chestnut St.
According to police reports, Ms. Kainey was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to give CDS to law enforcement officers. She was advised of her of the mandatory court date.
While in Nutley police custody, it was discovered that there was an active warrent for her out of Newark. Nutley police contacted the department in Newark. She was released her on her own recognizance with a new court date for Newark.
Mr. Kainey will be answering to several charges including maintaining a manufacturing facility -1st degree, manufacturing - 2nd degree, manufacturing within 1000 ft. of a school. -3rd degree, possession of heroin- 3rd degree, possession of paraphernalia to manufacture - 4th degree, possession of hypodermic needle. He was printed, processed, and transported to the Essex County Jail by Nutley detectives.
The home is located within 100 feet of Radcliffe elementary school on Bloomfield Ave.
