NUTLEY, NJ - With new tenants, new construction, and new plans taking place on the abandoned Hoffman LaRoche site, the Nutley Board of Commissioners announced a community meeting to discuss plans for On3.
The meeting, hosted by the township's planner Topology, is open to the public and will inform the public about the redevelopment of the campus. This initial meeting is the kick-off of a series of public engagements that will take place over the next several months. The first meeting comes after the arrival of the first employees of Ralph Lauren.
Ralph Lauren joined Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall, Modern Meadow, Hackensack Meridian Health’s Center of Discovery and Innovation, and Y-mAbs Therapeutics, Inc.’s pediatric cancer laboratory as tenants of the campus. At present, only the 14 story glass and steel tower remains unoccupied, the other four building that Roche left vacant are now occupied.
“This is the first of several opportunities the public will have to provide input,” said Mayor Joseph P. Scarpelli. “Come learn more about what has been happening, what comes next, and how you can get involved.”
Attendees will participate in an interactive polling exercise that will give them an opportunity to express their preferences and help guide the next phase of the planning and engagement processes. Planners from Topology will be available after the meeting for individual.
“The Board of Commissioners are excited about the progress we have made to date. Our planners have designed a unique public participation tool that will give our residents the ability to offer ideas and provide feedback in a fun and cool way,” concluded Scarpelli.
As this meeting is taking place in a Nutley Public Schools building, all of the strict security protocols enacted by the district will be in place.
The open public meeting will take place in the Nutley High School auditorium on Wed. Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
