Diwali holiday to gain school recognition in Bernards Township Schools

BERNARDS TWP.  NJ - School board members signaled their intention to recognize Diwali on the school calendar, culminating years of requests from the Indian community.

The board voted to have its policy committee draft a proposal to grant students a day off when the main Diwali holiday falls on a school day.

Dolls and Stuffed Animals Were Blessed and Stayed for Tea at Grace Church Nutley

NUTLEY, NJ - Kids with their dolls, mothers and grandmothers gathered at Grace Episcopal Church in Nutley for the seventh annual blessing of the dolls and toys on Sunday afternoon, March 18.

A small worship service geared towards the children was held in the church.  The Rev. Pam Bakal asked the children to hold their dolls up high so she could see them.
