Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Nutley Department of Parks and Recreation will be offering a variety of weekly sporting programs for students with special needs this fall.
FUN FOR ALL is an adaptive recreation program offering a variety of seasonal sports and social activities on a weekly basis throughout the school year.
Participation in the program will introduce your child to the tremendous benefits of sports where the focus is more on learning the basics, enjoying fitness, developing friendships and having FUN! Good sportsmanship and accepting individual differences and abilities is fostered throughout the sessions.
High levels of reinforcement and recognition are provided to each player for their level of participation. Modifications are made as needed to enable all participants to play and enjoy the experience. The participation of children with disabilities in sports and recreational activities promotes inclusion, optimizes physical functioning, and enhances overall well-being” stated Commissioner Tucci.
FUN FOR ALL will be held in the Radcliffe School gymnasium beginning Wednesday, October 16, 2019. The program will run weekly throughout the school year with the exception of school closings and special BOE functions. Session I for ages 5- 11 years old will run from 6:30-7:30 pm and Session II for ages 12-21 will follow from 7:30-8:30 pm.
Program fee is $75 for the first family member and $25 for each additional.
