HACKENSACK, N.J. – On Tuesday evening, Sheriff Anthony Cureton and officers from the Bergen County Sheriff's Office participated in National Night Out festivities across the county with a presence in 17 different municipalities.
The Bergen County Sheriff Office's community outreach unit offered giveaways, touch-a-truck experiences, prizes, and photo-opportunities in Teaneck, Harrington Park, Maywood, Garfield, Montvale, Rutherford, Lodi, Hackensack, Hillsdale, Fairview, Lyndhurst, Saddle Brook, Westwood, Palisades Park, Leonia, Allendale, and New Milford.
"Expanding the BCSO community outreach footprint has been a top priority of mine as Sheriff and I welcome all opportunities to engage our communities. National Night Out does just that by affording our officers a chance to engage the public and create positive interactions with Bergen County residents, ultimately demonstrating firsthand how law enforcement is a positive force for good," said Sheriff Anthony Cureton.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
