PARAMUS, N.J. -- A 31-year-old Paramus man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
On Tuesday, October 8, an infant was transported to the Hackensack University Medical Center via ambulance for medical treatment after suffering apparent trauma. According to a press release from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the infant “sustained a skull fracture, a broken rib, a broken wrist and a had a retinal bleed.”
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Paramus Police Department conducted an investigation into the matter and found that the child’s father, Avery Foote, intentionally caused the trauma.
The man was remanded to the Bergen County Jail with a court appearance pending at the Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
The infant is in stable condition.
