PARAMUS, NJ - With a March 1 deadline come and gone for parents to commit their children to a hybrid or full-remote model of learning through the end of the year, the district administration is expected to announce this week which grades will return to full in-person learning.

According to Superintendent Sean Adams, in-person learning four days per week, Tuesday through Friday, is expected to begin Tuesday, March 9, for identified grade levels throughout the district. Mondays will remain remote.

While the definitions of when the district can return to all in-person learning depends on how the coronavirus is progressing through the population, if cases continue to decrease, in-person learning looks promising in the near future.

"While the district will maintain six feet of social distance to the maximum extent practicable, it will likely not be possible in all scenarios/classrooms," Adams said in his communication to parents. "Phase III is set to commence when the regional risk level decreases from the current "high risk for transmission" level to a "moderate risk for transmission" level."

Parents everywhere are holding their collective breath.
