Ringwood, NJ – While the coronavirus pandemic rages on in New Jersey, one local party rental company is getting creative to help raise spirits and bring the community together. Parties by Porcelli, a tent and party rental supply company located in Ringwood, is a family-owned business led by Ringwood residents Melissa and John Porcelli. Since there aren’t any event rentals due to the current lockdown and social distancing guidelines, Parties by Porcelli has found ways to work with their surrounding towns and give back to the communities they love to serve.

Most recently, the Ringwood Police Benevolent Association approached Parties by Porcelli on pricing to rent a tent. The Porcelli’s realized the tent was going being used for COVID-19 testing for first responders and immediately donated the equipment. The testing site was erected Saturday, June 25 and responders were able to drive up and get tested without leaving their vehicles.

“We were thrilled to be able to give back the first responders who do so much for our town,” said Melissa Porcelli. “We have been looking for ways to help and were grateful for the opportunity to directly help the first responders who do so much for the community.”

Parties by Porcelli has been trying to help Ringwood and the surrounding towns in other ways as well. The party rental company hosted a teacher appreciation Facebook contest where parents and students were able to nominate their favorite teacher for a chance for the teacher to win a gift card. The contest had a strong response and Parties by Porcelli ended up awarding Target gift cards to the two teachers who tied with the most votes.

The Porcelli’s have also been working closely with Lakeland Regional High School on ways that they can celebrate the 2020 graduating class. The couple said that they have been really impressed with how receptive the staff has been to ideas and is happy that they have been able to help.

“It’s sad to think about how these are the last few months the high school seniors have to spend time with their friends before going separate ways for college, the workforce and for some, the military. This is when they should be getting excited for prom and graduation, and we’re looking for ways to give these seniors some type of celebration,” said Melissa Porcelli.

As part of their efforts, Parties by Porcelli recently teamed up with Ryan Hunter Real Estate and sent the local post office lunch as a “thank you” for all they have been juggling during the pandemic. One of Parties by Porcelli’s latest endeavors is running a family dance contest on Facebook where people can email or post their video on the Parties by Porcelli Facebook page. The winning family will receive dinner from a local restaurant.

“Coming off the slow winter months and then being faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been tough for our company and the event rental industry as a whole. We sympathize for the families and organizations who have had to postpone or cancel their events, but our top priority is keeping everyone safe,” said John Porcelli. “We will be here for our customers when this is over, but in the meantime we are doing all that we can to support our local community, whether it’s sharing ideas for at-home activities for kids, supporting a neighborhood restaurant through a social media contest or just simply letting our customers know that we are here for them and will be ready to help plan their events as soon as we’re past this storm.”

Parties by Porcelli looks forward to the days when everyone can gather again and celebrate happy occasions with friends and family.
