GLEN ROCK, NJ - If the weather forecast holds, the heavy rains that were the tail end of Hurricane Zeta are moving out and making way for sunny skies on Halloween, albeit a bit cold, according to the National Weather Service.

This bodes well for tomorrow's festivities, a Halloween Spooktacular, compliments of The Glen Rock Chamber of Commerce. Featured activities include The Great Pumpkin Contest (Creative Den), Story time in the Alcove (The Curious Reader), and a Pet Costume Contest (Glen Rock NJ Dog Park). The Borough of Glen Rock is hosting a day-long Scavenger Hunt, as well.

The Great Pumpkin Contest

Sign Up for Paramus Newsletter
Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Get your carved pumpkin over to Creative Den on Rock Road either today by 5 p.m. or by 10 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Owner Tara McKee and her helpers will tag each pumpkin with a barcode. Pumpkins will be outside the businesses along Rock Road where anyone can take a picture of the barcode on the pumpkin with their phone. After clicking the picture of the barcode, you will notice an app come up in the right-hand corner giving you the choice to vote for the pumpkin you think fits the listed prize categories. Each category has a $25 prize connected to a local business if your pumpkin gets the most votes in the category.

Creative Den will send out notification to all winners on Facebook by 6 p.m. Saturday.

If you choose not to pick up your pumpkin, it will be discarded.
