With Temperatures Rising, Bergen County Opens Cooling Centers

HACKENSACK, NJ -- With temperatures in the region climbing into the mid 90s today, Bergen County government has opened four Cooling Centers open to the public. The announcement was made by Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, who also recommended that residents stay indoors if possible from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. when the sun is at its strongest and burns and heat strokes are more likely to occur.
