PARAMUS, N.J. -- A 53-year-old Oakland man was arrested in Paramus on November 21 following an investigation that revealed he was in possession of child pornography.

John D. Vieldhouse, a single car salesman, was arrested on the heels of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit in connection with an internet child pornography investigation, which found that Vieldhouse allegedly used the internet to “view, download, or possess approximately 1,800 digital files depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children,” according to a news release from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.  

Vieldhouse was charged with one count of possession of child pornography in an amount greater than 1,000 files, a second degree crime. He was remanded to Bergen County Jail pending an appearance at the Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
