PARAMUS, N.J. -- A married borough man employed as a truck mechanic has been arrested and is facing charges of sexual assault.

The Division of Child Protection and Permanency last Friday contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit informing them that Winston Santos, 37, was allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a child under the age of 16 in Paramus.

Santos was arrested on Monday and charged with four counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, all first-degree crimes, and one count each of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact, a third-degree crime, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a second-degree crime following a joint investigation between the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Paramus Police Department.

Santos was remanded to the Bergen County Jail and is due in Central Judicial Processing Court at an undisclosed date.
