PARAMUS, N.J. -- A 25-year-old car dealership manager from Woodland Park faces charges for aggravated sexual assault and kidnapping on the heels of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the police departments of Paramus and Ramapo, N.Y.

The Paramus Police Department on December 6 advised the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit that an incapacitated female was taken by an unidentified male from a Paramus restaurant. The man, who investigators later identified as Carlos Belaunde, Jr. allegedly placed the victim in his vehicle and drove her to an unknown location where he sexually assaulted her.

On December 20, Belaunde, Jr. was arrested in Paramus and charged with one count each of Aggravated Sexual Assault and kidnapping -- both first-degree crimes. Belaunde, Jr. is due in court today.
