PARKLAND, FL- Andrew Pollack was appointed to the Florida's Board of Education by Governor Rick Scott.  According to the Sun-Sentinel, Andrew Pollack began his term on Friday.  The appointment still needs to be confirmed by Florida's Senate.  Board members serve a 4 year term. Pollack's daughter, Meadow was killed in the February 14 tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas.  Pollack has since fought for accountability and safer schools.  Pollack outlined his priorities for his new role on his Twitter account, "Accountability for School Boards and Superintendents, increased teacher pay and enacting and enforcing school safety initiatives are my priority."
