PARKLAND, FL- Governor Ron DeSantis held a press conference Wednesday morning concerning new advisories for the Coronavirus. DeSantis issued a public health advisory that all persons age 65 and older or with high risk underlying medical conditions are to stay at home and self-quarantine to limit their risk of exposure to COVID-19.
He also stated that anyone who traveled to Florida from the New York City area in recent weeks will need to self-isolate for 14 days. There has been no restrictions on domestic flights.
According to the latest update on the Florida Department of Health website, there are 3 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Parkland and 8 confirmed cases in Coral Springs. Broward County has the second largest number of cases in the state behind Miami Dade with 312 cases. There are 1583 residents confirmed and 99 non-residents confirmed in Florida.
At time of publication, the state is not under a "stay at home" order.
