Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives need the public’s help to identify a man found floating in the ocean early Saturday morning in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.

Shortly passed 5 a.m. on March 24, BSO Regional Communications received a call from a fisherman at the Commercial Boulevard pier alerting authorities about the discovery. The waves carried the body of the adult male near the shore, and responding deputies were able to pull the body out of the water.

The man was clothed and is believed to be approximately 40 years of age. The cause and manner of death are unknown at this time. The body will be transported to the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Anyone with information about the identity of subject is asked to call the Broward County Regional Communications non-emergency line, 954-764-HELP (4357).
