PARKLAND, FL- In a difficult season that often feels increasingly challenging each week, Parklanders are continuing to step up with creative ideas. Heron Heights Elementary celebrated the final day of school in Broward County with a 5th Grade Promotion Parade.

”The promotion parade was a fabulous way to celebrate our 5th graders in a time that is unprecedented. They worked extremely hard for six years and deserved the morning to celebrate their accomplishments," said Heron Heights Elementary Principal Merideth Weiss Schnur.

Decorated cars wrapped around the school as DJ Chris Cruz, Heron Heights parent and local entertainer, announced the grade school graduates with energy and style. Families celebrated the accomplishments of their children and cheered together as Heron Heights students one last time.

"Our administration, 5th grade teachers, support staff, specials teams and office staff were all there to show their support!" added Weiss Schnur. "It was an exciting morning and we wish all of our students a happy, healthy, safe summer!”
