PARKLAND, FL - Former students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and others joined in a video expressing support to current students still reeling from the Valentine's Day slaying of 17 people, including 14 students, at the school.

The video was directed by MSD alumnus Ryan Blitzer, who graduated from the school five years ago. It includes videotaped messages of encouragement from former MSD students now living throughout the United States. Most of the graduates urge the current students to "stay strong," and express support for the advocacy, by some, of some form of increased gun control.

A former MSD student, Nikolas Cruz, 19, stands charged with multiple counts of murder. Police said he entered the building armed with a semi-automatic rifle and systematically gunned down his victims before leaving the weapon and leaving the school with other students fleeing the mayhem.

The people filmed in the video also joined together to create a website and to organize a petition calling for an end to gun violence.
