PARKLAND, FL- The Florida Crushers brought another 3v3 Championship title home to Parkland. This is their third consecutive championship. The Florida Crushers sponsored by APT is made up of 5 fifth grade girls; Ashley Bean, Kai Butler, Bianca Raskin, Emily Rodriguez and Kenslee Ward. The girls also play for the Parkland Girls 2008 Red team.
The Florida Crushers won the championship in the Weston Blast 3v3 Tournament in March. The girls played in a mixed division within their 2008 age group and the 2007 age group. They went 3-0 in the group stage scoring 22 goals and allowing just 5 total in the three games. Those wins sent them to the playoffs where they continued to dominate. They beat two 2007 teams 5-1 and 7-2 to claim the title of champions.
"I was excited that we won the tournament and it was a great way to start the 3v3 season," stated fifth grader Kenslee Ward. "It's fun to watch these girls never give up," added coach Mike Raskin
The girls are now ficused on their regualr season games with Parkland Girls 2008 Red team. When the season concludes, the Florida Crushers will pursue their next 3v3 championship.
