Svelte Strong-Arm Robber Lives Up to His Name

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the robber who baffled employees and customers alike when he casually walked into the Sprint Store at 167 S. 26th Ave. in Pompano Beach and suddenly began to yank four phones violently from the store's display.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on March 14, a slim six-foot-tall man wearing a gray hoodie, beanie cap, jeans and dark sunglasses entered the store and made his way to a display with new mobile phones attached to a table with security cables and yelled out "nobody move this is a robbery."

The store's security measures sadly were no match for the lanky robber's explosive upper-body strength. He forcefully pulled each phone free and ran from the store. The phones are valued at almost $3,000.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Nicole Haugh at 954-321-4253. Reports can also be made anonymously to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
