PARKLAND, FL- TAPinto.net, a network of more than 80 franchised online local news sites in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Florida, had a record-breaking month of traffic in June, logging 1,270,494 unique readers and 3,453,599 pageviews. The record marks continued growth in TAPinto’s readership and engagement metrics across its 82 franchised sites. During the last year, TAPinto had 8,876,553 unique readers who read 33,209,338 pages.
“Our numbers demonstrate that the demand for local news is significant and continues to grow,” said TAPinto CEO and Publisher Michael Shapiro. "Local news is evolving but the path forward is becoming more clear, at least on the local level. Unlike other publications, TAPinto sites are locally owned and operated, providing boots-on-the-ground reporting," continued Shapiro. "That local ownership and local reporting makes all the difference."
TAPinto provides the backend infrastructure, training and support to its owner/publishers. TAPinto's innovative model and proprietary technology gives franchisees the ability to share content with each other and sell advertising into each other, enabling the local owner/publishers to operate at scale with low overhead.
"Our sites are not only producing high-quality original local news content but also achieving record-breaking traffic, financial sustainability and real value for readers and advertisers," said Shapiro.
TAPinto.net, which began in 2008 as an all-online local newspaper in New Providence, NJ founded by former residents Michael and Lauryn Shapiro, now has more local reporters on the ground and produces more original local news reporting daily than any other publication in New Jersey.
"As we continue to grow, we are committed to improving local journalism. Thank you to our readers and our advertisers for your loyalty and support. We would not be here without you."
